Running Club

Our mission is to create a culture of wellness in the Gayton community by providing opportunities for hands-on learning focusing on nutrition and fitness.

We are so happy to be part of promoting an active lifestyle at Gayton. In our 3rd year, we look forward to expanding our efforts and sharing more programs with our Gayton students, staff, and families. If you’d like to volunteer with the Wellness Committee, we’d love to have your help! Please e-mail gaytonwellness@yahoo.com with any interests or questions! Also, please join and follow our Facebook group, A Year of Being Well at Gayton.

Here’s a snapshot of events we plan to promote, organize, or contribute to:

Short Pump Mile – Sunday, October 2nd
Come out to the Short Pump Mile and represent Gayton proudly in this fun community event. Schools with the highest participation can win cash prizes ranging from $200 – $600 for their school! For more information, visit http://shortpumprace.com/ and sign-up to represent Gayton.

Treats for Troops – Tuesday, November 1st through Thursday, November 4th
Gayton’s first two ‘Treats for Troops’ collections were huge successes and we plan to repeat the effort again this year.  We’ve collected over 670 pounds of candy for the troops, while reminding our kids of those who are working hard to keep us safe. Plus, we got all that candy out of our houses!  Let’s see what we can do this year!!
